While digital direct-to-plate has become commonplace, there is
still a need for high resolution film output services as well as
output to resin coated (RC) paper. Presses, packaging printers, label
printers, and silkscreeners are just a few of the industries that
may still benefit from our services.
We offer our film output services in a variety of line screen options:
- 65 LPI
- This LPI film output is used most often in screen printing.
- 85 LPI
- Good film output LPI for inexpensive low-resolution plates,
very common in newspapers.
- 133 LPI
- Very common film output line screen. Found in many types of
general printing (especially on uncoated stock).
- 150 LPI
- Lines screen similar to 133 but better suited for coated paper
types.
- Other
- Prepress Services also offers other less common line screens
upon request.
IMPORTANT: Please contact your engraver or printer BEFORE submitting
your high-resolution film output order. Depending on your image and
target medium, you may require a certain LPI screen (or no screen
in some cases).
We offer all four standard output formats for our
high resolution
film output services:
- Negative - Emulsion Down
- This is the most common form of high-resolution film output
used for the creation of offset printing plates.
- Negative - Emulsion Up
- An uncommon film output format. Used generally for making duplicate
negatives and certain types of engraving.
- Positive - Emulsion Down
- This form of hi res film output is not common. If your printer
is in the Middle East or Asia, you may need this output form.
- Positive - Emulsion Up
- This type of high-res film output is most commonly used in
silkscreening in products such as fabrics, printed electronics,
and DVDs.
IMPORTANT: Always check with your engraver or printer to make sure
you provide your high-resolution film output in the proper format.
We cannot be responsible if you order your hi res film imaging in
the incorrect film output format. |
